Every year, humanitarian organisations rely on supply chains to deliver life-saving assistance to people affected by conflict, displacement, disasters and crises around the world. Strengthening the role of local actors within these supply chains — and how international and local actors plan, coordinate and deliver together — is a key part of building more sustainable and locally led humanitarian responses The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a highly qualified and experienced supply chain professional to help drive this agenda at a global level. In this role, you will contribute to shaping how humanitarian organisations work with local actors and communities, helping ensure that critical humanitarian assistance can be delivered more effectively, efficiently and sustainably where it is needed most About the job DRC is committed to advancing supply chain localisation as a key strategic objective, working together with the Humanitarian Leadership Group on Supply Chain (HLGSC), a cross-sector initiative bringing together humanitarian organisations, donors and partners to strengthen end-to-end supply chains across the system. As Global Supply Chain Localisation Advisor, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the localisation workstream on behalf of DRC, acting as DRC's lead technical representative within HLGSC and working closely with UNICEF and other partners to shape, develop and strengthen the sector's approach to supply chain localisation. You will report to the Director of Supply Chain. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: • Provide technical leadership for the localisation workstream, helping shape the humanitarian sector's approach to supply chain localisation and supporting the delivery of agreed workstream objectives. • Co-lead the development, testing and refinement of the Supply Chain Maturity Model, assessment methodology and associated guidance in collaboration with UNICEF and other workstream partners. • Translate concepts, operational experience and stakeholder inputs into practical frameworks, guidance and tools that support localisation objectives across the sector. • Act as DRC's lead technical representative within HLGSC, bringing DRC's operational experience, NGO perspectives, lessons learned and technical expertise to sector-wide discussions. • Ensure alignment between the localisation workstream and DRC's wider localisation and supply chain priorities, including partner tiering approaches and partner supply chain management initiatives. • Work collaboratively with UNICEF, co-lead organisations and technical experts to shape technical direction, build consensus and strengthen workstream outputs. • Co-lead the technical content and preparation of expert group and technical working group engagements, including consultation materials, draft outputs and decision points for review. • Provide technical guidance and thought leadership to stakeholders engaged in the workstream, ensuring existing initiatives, evidence and lessons learned are leveraged and duplication of effort is avoided. • Review, validate and synthesise inputs from expert consultations, technical working groups, bilateral exchanges and testing activities, translating findings into strengthened methodologies, frameworks and recommendations. • Support the preparation of outputs, recommendations and technical products for governance review, decision-making and endorsement. • Lead the documentation of lessons learned, evidence gaps, limitations and considerations for the future stewardship, maintenance and evolution of the Supply Chain Maturity Model To be successful in this role we expect you to bring substantial supply chain experience across HQ and country-office settings, strong technical credibility on maturity and capacity assessments, and the ability to lead and influence across organisations without formal line authority. Moreover, we also expect the following: Required • 7-10 years of experience working in HQ and Country Offices, especially in supply chain and related support functions. • Supply Chain master's degree or equivalent academic qualification. • Demonstrated ability to lead technical content development, working within a collaborative co-lead model and influencing, convening and synthesising across organisations without formal line authority. • Strong track record of representing an organisation in external, multi-stakeholder technical forums. • Fluency in English is required. Desirable • Experience working with local partners. • Experience related to maturity assessments and capacity assessments of partners or markets. • Familiarity with localisation initiatives (e.g. Grand Bargain / IASC localisation commitments). • Working knowledge of French. We offer Contract length: 12 months, in line with the current implementation period of the HLGSC localisation workstream action — any extension subject is to continued funding and workstream priorities. Work location: Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, just by Ryparken station. The role requires travel as needed, estimated at once every 3 months. Start date: 1st November 2026 The position is temporary, based on project employment linked to the current 12-month HLGSC localisation workstream action and its funding. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
