Job Title: Psychosocial Support Worker (PSS) Job location: Syria – Homs Reports to: Admin Worker Job Style : Parttime JOB SUMMARY The Frontline Social Worker is responsible for conducting initial assessments using structured evaluation tools to identify patients' mental health needs and refer them to the appropriate treatment pathways. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Psychosocial Support Worker (PSS) has the following responsibilities and duties: 1. Conducting initial psychological assessments using standardized tools. 2. Categorizing the cases based on severity (mild, moderate, severe). 3. Maintaining accurate records and documentation and coordinating with the technical focal point. 4. Providing psychoeducation and guiding patients to appropriate services. 5. Referring patients to group therapy sessions or to a psychiatrist when needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Should have the following skills, education, and experience: · Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field. · Proven experience in providing social work support to individuals and families impacted by trauma, disasters, or conflict-related stress. · Experience in working with vulnerable populations. · Familiarity with MHPSS principles and interventions is advantageous. · Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills. · Fluency in Arabic.
