About this opportunity

With 75 years of experience, our focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.

Come join our 33,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!

Here’s where you come in:

As Regional Leader - MEER, you will direct regional operations of World Vision (WV) and provide oversight to 14 countries (Bosnia Herzegovina, Albania, Romania, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Jerusalem-West Bank, Türkiye, and Ukraine) by ensuring effective management of ministry in alignment with WV’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and global strategic directions. You will oversee strategy management, people management, financial resource management, risk management, Board/Advisory Council and partnership engagement, while managing the performance and effectiveness of WV’s work across the 14 countries and the Regional Office. You will represent, position, enhance, and protect World Vision’s ministry in the region, both within the WV Partnership and externally to relevant audiences and bodies.

You will provide strategic leadership to effectively deliver the whole mission through National Offices and regional initiatives, aligned with WV’s Vision, Goals, Mission, Core Values, and global strategy. You will lead implementation of the Partnership Strategy (Our Promise), build unity, and promote a culture of twin citizenship across all National Offices and the Regional Office. You will adjust regional and national structures to optimize impact for the most vulnerable children and deliver efficient operating models, while supporting WV entities transitioning toward self-sufficiency. You will provide executive leadership for Level 2 and Level 3 emergencies in liaison with the Global Disaster Management unit, serve as WVI spokesperson at key regional forums, and represent the region in WV Partnership senior management groups and forums.

You will ensure alignment with Our Promise and global strategy for self-funding and interdependent offices, maximize the impact and quality of WV’s presence and ministry, and monitor alignment with Partnership policies and standards across the region. You will oversee Peer Review and Audit processes and recommendations, approve country operating budgets and major capital expenditures for program and branch offices, and ensure planning processes enable National Offices to use available resources effectively. You will also lead the regional crisis management team.

You will provide spiritual leadership, promote the Christian ethos of World Vision, and strengthen the spiritual development of staff across the region. You will model strong personal Christian faith, servant leadership, ethical and behavioural standards, and a positive and open leadership style that strengthens teamwork and performance. You will support organizational change and improvement and ensure Partnership conflict resolution processes are applied to identify and resolve conflicts at the lowest possible level.

You will ensure adequate sectoral and management support skills to deliver the ministry and lead the selection, recruitment, orientation, development, performance management, and transition of National Directors. You will mentor, develop, and guide National Directors in strategy, governance, policy, and protection of the WV brand and reputation. You will lead the recruitment and selection of Regional Directors and provide mentoring and support to the regional senior leadership team for spiritual growth and professional development. You will create an enabling environment through supervision, coaching, mentoring, and on-site observation, while ensuring succession planning for National Directors and your own position.

You will support National Directors in the selection and development of Advisory Councils and Boards according to Partnership standards and guidelines. You will engage with Board and Advisory Council chairs and National Directors to ensure accountability of National Offices, review Board documents and reports, and represent the WVI President on National Boards and Advisory Councils. You will remain ultimately accountable for the implementation of Peer Review and Audit processes and recommendations.

You will carry out other tasks and duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Field Operations Officer.
