About this team and role: Mozilla’s Data Engineering team is looking for a Senior Staff Data Engineer / Data Platform Engineer to help build the present and future of our Data Platform infrastructure. This role will be a hybrid Data Engineer / Data Platform Engineer, working across both teams (Data Platform Engineering and Data Engineering) in a technical leadership capacity. Mozilla’s Data Platform serves the needs of multiple products, including the Firefox browser, from data collection through to insights, product experiences, and machine learning applications. Our goal is to build a robust, efficient, and effective platform that makes it increasingly easy to inform Mozilla’s business and product decisions. What you’ll do: • Design, build, and improve systems to reliably and efficiently process data at the scale of tens of terabytes per day, and apply those systems to solve meaningful problems for the business. • Evaluate new technologies. Work with Data Engineering and Data Platform Engineering not only to implement these technologies but also to set best-practice standards. • Craft and improve workflows in GCP using standard, modern components such as Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, GKE, and Airflow. • Drive cross-functional projects with stakeholders across Mozilla, including Data Science, Product, Legal, Policy, and Engineering. • Mentor teammates and develop engineering best practices across the Data Organization. • Work with Data Science to design and implement useful data abstractions. • Address the evolving needs of active Data Products. Hiring Ranges: US Tier 1 Locations $195,000—$260,000 USD US Tier 2 Locations $179,000—$239,000 USD US Tier 3 Locations $166,000—$221,000 USD
