About the role Reporting in to the Finance Officer in Bukavu, the Finance Intern will be responsible for all financial, fiscal and administrative matters of the Bukavu Office. The postholder will ensure Christian Aid finance policies are complied with at all times and donors’ requirements are adhered to. You will also manage the administration of the local office in line with Christian Aid Policies and applicable DRC Laws. Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Finance Intern include: • Manage all Financial operations in Bukavu, including office petty cash and in accordance with Christian Aid's cash-keeping procedures and policies. • Encode daily all the financial operations of the Bukavu database in the accounting software • Manage the liquidity of the Bukavu office to maintain its solvency, in particular by preparing and submitting the monthly forecast (Cash flow request) to the national office, according to the established schedule. • Hold, complete and make payments in cash, by check or by transfer order, ensuring that payments have been duly authorized • Keep up to date with the evolution of the DRC's tax regulations. • Prepare and submit monthly cash count. • Maintain working relations with the bank and tax administration institutions. • Ensure that the asset register is regularly updated • Prepare expense reports, debit note to be submitted for review and approval to the Finance Officer, and collect Christian Aid owed from creditors. • Ensure that the office adheres to CA to define financial systems. • Assists program staff in assessing the financial capacity of potential partners. • Works closely with the Program team to ensure optimal planning and delivery of program activities. About you Who we are looking for Essential: • Accounting Qualifications (Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related disciplines). • Knowledge of DRC Tax regulations and legal environment. • No experience is needed with this role • Familiarity with donors (UN, DFID, EU, Irish Aid ) processes and requirements

• Good communication in French and English (Written and spoken)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small close-knit team.
• Sensitivity to differences in culture and nationality with the ability to work closely with colleagues from across the world with a range of professional backgrounds
• Excellent planning, time management and organizational abilities.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets
• Adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances and needs of the role, including flexibility in working hours to ensure coordination with key colleagues in different locations and time zones.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Gérer les opérations financières du bureau de Bukavu, notamment la petite caisse, conformément aux politiques et procédures de Christian Aid relatives à la gestion des espèces.
• Saisir quotidiennement dans le logiciel comptable l’ensemble des opérations financières du bureau de Bukavu et veiller à l’exactitude des données enregistrées.
• Préparer et effectuer les paiements en espèces, par chèque ou par virement bancaire, en veillant à ce que chaque paiement soit correctement documenté et dûment autorisé.
• Veiller à ce que toutes les opérations financières disposent des pièces justificatives requises et soient correctement classées et archivées.
• Se tenir informé(e) de l’évolution de la réglementation fiscale et des obligations légales applicables en RDC.
• Préparer et soumettre les contrôles et décomptes mensuels de caisse.
• Entretenir de bonnes relations de travail avec les banques, les administrations fiscales et les autres institutions concernées.
• Veiller à la mise à jour régulière du registre des immobilisations.
• Préparer les rapports de dépenses et les notes de débit à soumettre au/à la Chargé(e) des Finances pour vérification et approbation, et assurer le suivi des sommes dues à Christian Aid.
• Veiller au respect, par le bureau de Bukavu, des systèmes, procédures et contrôles financiers définis par Christian Aid.
• Appuyer l’équipe Programme dans l’évaluation des capacités financières des partenaires potentiels.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe Programme afin d’assurer une planification financière efficace et une mise en œuvre optimale des activités des programmes.
